House Manual Word and Google Docs Edition is the operational manual for your vacation rental, written as a normal document you can edit in minutes. It explains how the home actually works: heating and cooling, water and plumbing, breakers, kitchen appliances, laundry, TV and Wi-Fi, locks, outdoor extras, house rules, safety, troubleshooting, checkout and the vendors to call. Use it for guests, and as the reference your cleaners and co-hosts open when something breaks. A cover, a contents page and 14 chapters add up to 16 pages in both US Letter and A4.

No Canva needed. The files are standard .docx documents that open in Microsoft Word, Google Docs (free) and Pages. Every chapter title is a real Heading 1 style, so Google Docs shows the outline on the left and you can jump straight to any chapter.

How it works

2. Open the Letter or A4 .docx in Word, or upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. In Pages, open the .docx directly.
3. Replace the [bracketed] details with your own. Press Tab in the last table cell to add a row.
4. Print it for the binder in the home, or export a PDF to share with guests, cleaners and co-hosts.

FAQ

Is this the welcome book? No. It is the systems manual that pairs with a welcome book. It has no welcome letter and no local favorites: it covers how the home works, what to do when something fails and who to call.

Can I add chapters? Yes. Copy a page, change the heading and add it to the contents. Every chapter starts on a new page, so adding or removing one does not disturb the others. Retype the page numbers on the contents page.

Can I print it for the binder? Yes. Print the PDF or your edited Word file on Letter or A4 paper. Each chapter fits one page, so you can also tape a single chapter, such as Checkout, where it is needed.

Does it work in Google Docs? Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. Headings, tables and the contents page carry over, and the outline panel lists all 14 chapters.

Is the text in US English? Yes, with US units such as degrees Fahrenheit and miles in the sample text.
